Commentary on Islam

I've found a guy that seems to know what he's talking about. I haven't honestly had time to look at all of his articles in detail but he's worth paying attention to.

You can find his articles at www.americanthinker.com . His name is Andrew G. Bostom and his articles can be found directly at
http://www.americanthinker.com/andrew_g_bostom/

Two articles caught my attention and may spark some controversy (not that I'm looking for anything more than Truth). Those articles are about Jihad and the Crusades and can be found at

http://www.americanthinker.com/2005/05/ ... des_1.html

http://www.americanthinker.com/2005/05/ ... des_2.html

Bascially, he asserts that the Crusades were in response to Jihad that had already begun in the 630's AD. Lots of history in his articles that I don't know enough about to refute or endorse. Worth taking a look anyhow.

Paolo, Thanks for the map. It's interesting to note that when Paul went 'to the Arabian desert' for 14? years as documented in Acts, he probably went to the 'Syrian' desert just East of Damascus. I'd certainly like to know more about what happened there.

Was there a point you were trying to make that I just missed?

The information in my comment is mainly derived from Norma's site

http://seder.topcities.com/chap2beasts.htm

A possible identification of the 10 horns and the 3 horns that are torn during the rise of the 11th horn.

Daniel Ch. 7, Vs. 7:
After this I kept looking in the night vision, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrifying and extremely strong: and it had large iron teeth. It devoured and crushed, and trampled down the remainder with its feet: and it was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.

As explained in other topics and on the blog many times, the consesus view is that this 4th Daniel Beast is the Beast Empire of the end time (which corresponds to the 7th and 8th Revelation Beast)

The 7th Revelation Beast is the Islamic caliphate. The Caliphate was disbanded in 1922

According to norma, there were 10 divisions as following

Image

3 of the horns were disolved and the country Iraq (with babylon as its capital) was created. an 11th horn.

I have a question about this view...

Wasn't Egypt already seperated from the Caliphate in the 1800s?

Was Iran ever part of the Ottomans? Is it a true statement to say that Iran is one of the horns that came from the Caliphate?

About Egypt:
1) The Answer is yes but it was only on 1916 (When Ottomans allied with GERMANY in WW1) that Egypt was formally separated till that date it was under British Protectorate....But formally the Khedive (Egyptian Viceroy) was STILL APPOINTED BY THE SULTAN of SUBLIME PORTE.
2) Iran was part of UMAYYAD CALIPHATE. Was NEVER part of Ottoman Empire.

I have always believed the Crusades were a response to the threat of violent Islam.

I believe if history were allowed to continue another thousand years, we would see a revisionist history that attempts to make a case for an aggressive War on Terror, versus a response to threat as we well know.

If one sticks to the principals of reason, knowing Satan is both ultraviolent and ultradeceptive, and knowing Islam is simply the arm of Satan in this world, we will see clearly regardless of what revisionists attempt to force feed us.

Paolo,

In the 6th post the map has babylonia in Egypt. Why is that do you know?
