Dave Mustaine, the creator and only original member became a Christian in 2004, and it's interesting to watch the direction he's taking the band. He even hired a pastor to come on the road with him on his last tour to keep him on the straight and narrow path.
The album is almost entirely about end times issues, although he holds to a revived roman empire eschatology as evidenced by the lyrics for "Washington is Next":
Of seven empires falling, the wolf is at my door
As predicted years ago, that that was, that is, that is no more
The word predicts my future and tells the truth about my past
Of how the world's leaders are waiting to usher in
The eighth world power of modern Rome; Washington is next
He does deal a little with Islam in the song Amerikhastan, and somewhat in United Abominations referring to the UN's inability to do anything constructive.
It's not praise music, but if you like your music loud and angry give it a listen!
