I was just curious as to whether many of you have experienced the same thing. I go to a pretty main stream Bible Church in the Dallas area. I have been attending there for about 3 years...and only recall ONE Sunday that our head pastor actually touched on Bible Prophecy. He recently replied to the following question: "When are you going to preach on Revelation?" with the following statement: "When I understand it." I was deeply saddened by this response, partly because of the limited view that Revelation is the only prophetic book of the Bible, and obviously becuase of my pastor's answer. If all of our Christian leaders waited untiil they fully understood God's word...well, we would never have any sermons, period.
I think that this is a major reason that many of us find ourselves here at joelstrumpet and other prophecy sites online. We are simply not being fed in our churches with regards to Biblical Prophecy.
Well, not being satisfied with my pastor's answer to the question, I immediately stepped up my efforts to begin a Prophecy Bible Study at my church, as well as start a Bible Prophecy Group on meetup.com in my area.
I would highly encourage you to do the same, if this topic is not being preached at your church. I believe that we are on the verge of entering into an era that none of us have known in our lifetimes, as far as persecution of the Church. It is already happening in many areas of the world. It is absolutely critical that we, God's "watchmen on the wall" get the word out about God's overall plan, and things that we will see in the very near future.
