Death of Eve

Postby Screaming Eagle on Wed Jan 09, 2008 5:43 pm

I completely realize that the question I'm about to pose will only be answered by our own suppositions and reckonings unless Holy Spirit quickens something in us with His answer but here it goes anyhow.
Why is the death of Eve not mentioned in the Bible? Other women were mentioned so it's not because of 'male dominated society' stuff.
Please give it some thought and prayer. I'd be interested in your understanding.
May the Lamb who was slain receive the just reward of His suffering.

Im thinking Gods purpose of naming the men is for the most part to establish the lineage of Jesus the Christ.

If Im not mistaken the fires that destroyed the temple in 70AD also destroyed the documented lineage of every Jew. As it stands now no Jew can 'officially' trace their ancestory. Thankfully the God of Israel has preserved His Son's lineage through His written word. So when we hear of people claiming to be messiah coming from the line of Ishmael, Mohammed, Mary or even Budda we will know for certain their claim is a lie.

David, I agree with what you're saying but it doesn't address the question. There are many other women in the Bible whose death is mentioned including the 'mothers' of Israel etc. Seems to me that certainly the 'mother of all' should have been mentioned at least in passing. Might just be one of those 'mystery' things that we have to wait for answers. Or, maybe the answer is so much bigger than the question that it wouldn't even be recognized as 'the' answer.

I can only surmise that much like todays obituaries in the news paper where the dead are honored (I've yet to see one that trashed someones name). God probably didn't think she deserved even an honorable mention since she was also the first to disobey God. Alot went wrong right after her meeting with the serpent.

Just my opinion :)

Also I'd like to know what language it was they were speaking that allowed a woman and a serpent to understand one another? I also find it interesting she didn't seem to be the least bit startled at having a serpent address her either! Hmmm

fight a good fight, stay the course and keep the faith.
