Quoting from Joel's book, "So the seventh empire is the empire that we need to identify. Because according to the verse above, it is the eighth empire that will be a resurrection of a revived version of the seventh empire:"

Every translation I have checked does not say specifically that the 7th empire would be revived...rather that one of the seven would be revived. That implies that it could be any one of the previous empires that revives.

Perhaps I am missing something. I hope so, because the rest of the book seems so consistent. But what Joel writes about the 7th empire: the Ottoman Empire that ruled for 1300 years is inconsistent with what the angel told John, that it would remain for only "a short time". That statement of the shortness of time is actually more consistent with Jerusalem's history since 1909.

I would appreciate clarification.

Ottoman Empire lasted ONLY 471 years NOT 1300!
Don't confuse The story of ISLAM with TURKISH history.
And don't forget.
1) Mehemet II proclamed himself "Emperor of the Romans" (Kayzeri ar RUMI)
2) when the angel says the beast "is from the seven" means a DIVISION common to all the empires
which troughout the times administered HOLY LAND..
